Sumitomo (SHI) Demag Plastics
Machinery GmbH has announced
changes to its sales organisation
in Germany, effective since 1 May.
The injection moulding and
plastics machinery supplier has
strengthened the national sales
team with the appointment of
Armin Distler as director.
Supporting Distler in managing a team of more than 13 are
Thomas Dirnberger in south Germany and Stefan Sonnhalter covering the north and west regions.
Sumitomo has announced
that it is aligning its business to

support "the entire medical, precision, automotive and packaging
value chains" and aims to work
closer with customers to "anticipate and map out their future
plastic moulding requirements."

Martin Althorpe has been appointed president of the British
Plastics Federation (BPF). The new
president is technical director at
Epwin Fenestration Division.
Althorpe has taken over
from Bruce Margetts, MD of
Bericap UK, who spent two
years in the role. The official
handover took place at the BPF
offices in London.
Althorpe has been involved
in the BPF Windows Group
since its formation in 1981,
and has been Windows Group

standards and engages with
stakeholders to boost the industry's recognition.

Orion Engineered Carbons SA
has announced major changes
within its executive management team, effective next
month.
As part of the restructuring
operation, Carlos Quinones will
join the company as senior vice
president (SVP) global operations, on 3 June. Quinones has
over 25 years of experience in
the chemicals industry, and
most recently served as director, industrial gases Americas
operations at Air Products.
In addition, Pedro Riveros
has been appointed as SVP and

general manager, Americas.
Riveros, who has a long career
at Air Products and Chemicals
under his belt, will likewise
commence his role on 3 June.
Patrick Tuttle will also be
joining the Orion top management team as SVP global human resources 10 June, having
worked as VP and chief human
resources officer for welding
supplies specialist ESAB.
Claudine Mollenkopf, SVP
specialty carbon blacks, will be
leaving the company "to pursue
other business interests," said
the company 21 May.

Lanxess AG is rearranging its additives business
into three units and has
appointed Anno Borkowsky to run the Speciality Additives segment.
The firm's current
additives business will be split
into two separate units - Polymer Additives headed up by
Karsten Job and Lubricant Additives led by Martin Saewe.
The firm's Rhein Chemie busi-

ness unit, also part of the
Speciality Additives segment, will remain as is
and continue to be led by
Philipp Junge.
Effective 1 June, Borkowsky's appointment
also gives him a seat on the
firm's board of management,
which will expand to five members. CEO Matthias Zachert had
previously been responsible for
the Specialty Additives segment.
