The ZSK 45 Mc18 with 45 mm screw diameter is equipped with new
features to simplify handling and increase compounding efficiency

to handle and can be detached without removing the cartridge heaters.
Both twin screw extruders are
equipped with ZS-B easy type side
feeders as well as ZS-EG easy type
side devolatilisation and feature an
easy design that enables quick removal from and re-installation to the
process section for cleaning or screw
changes. The ZSK connection barrel
has been optimised for quick changing and allows all four mounting
bolts to be simultaneously undone in
a circular movement.

At K 2019, the redesigned K3 vibratory feeder line from Coperion
K-Tron will also be presented to the
European market for the first time.
KRAUSSMAFFEI
EXTRUSION
(Hall 15, B27) is launching four new,
large-size versions of its high-performance ZE BluePower series for
throughput rates of 2,500 kg/h and
more which will be available immediately after the end of the exhibition.
As the ZE BluePower series now comprises tailored extruders for any type
of application and offers at the same

time enormous process-engineering
benefits, it will replace all previous
twin-screw extruder series.
The combination of large free volume and high specific torque enables
universal application of the ZE BluePower for compounding engineering
plastics, highly filled formulations and
recycled plastics. Thanks to the 1.65
OD/ID diameter ratio, the free volume
is increased by 27 % as compared to
the previous ZE UT extruder series. In
addition, the ZE BluePower features a
36 % higher torque density of 16
Nm/cm3.
The four large extruder variants
98, 122, 142 and 166 are identical to
the smaller sister models and offer
the same screw and barrel modularity. A wide range of 4D and 6D barrel
sections and various side feeder and
degassing units are available for the
extruder configuration. Exchangeable
oval liners provide a cost-effective alternative for extremely wear-intensive
processes. KraussMaffei did make minor design modifications to allow for
the size of the new extruders. The
housing elements are connected by
means of screw unions instead of
clamping flanges, cartridge heaters
