Valpak supports Paciﬁc island plastics study
Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire - Environmental
compliance specialist Valpak
is to send a team member  to
join scientists on an expedition
to a Paciﬁc island. While there,
the team will help clean up 10
tonnes of plastic waste, assessing the impact of the rubbish on
the local environment.
The team will leave in June
for Henderson Island, part of

plastic rubbish on the planet.

James Beard, recycling services manager at Valpak and
team member, said: "Henderson Island plays a unique role
in showing the scale of the marine litter problem. Despite its
isolation, it is estimated to contain 38 million pieces of plastic
litter which have been swept
into the South Paciﬁc Gyre."
The South Paciﬁc Gyre is the
conﬂuence of major ocean currents and a natural collection
point for oceanic waste.

Pentagon Plastics has launched
a company rebrand at the
Med-Tech Innovation Expo in
Birmingham.
The move follows the purchase of Phoenix Engineering
2009 in 2016, which has cul-

minated in the two businesses
being brought together under
the umbrella of Pentagon Plastics Group Ltd.
Pentagon worked with marketing agency Creative Pod to
develop new logos and online
services.

trading names, the operations will reorganise as a
