K SHOW

X Comb dryers
to feature on
Moretto stand
at K 2019
Massanzago, Italy - Moretto
(Hall 11, E65 and H57) is planning to show a series of new
hardware applications at the
upcoming K 2019 trade fair, to
be held at Messe Dusseldorf
from 16-23 October.
The lineup will include the X
Comb series of dehumidifiers.
Powered by electricity, which
means no compressed air requirement, the dryers further
feature powerful 'turbo compressors', the Dew Point equalizer and OTX hopper.
The 'On' series of dryers is
suitable for installation directly
on the mouth of the processing machine, supporting higher
production output. Conversely,
the 'Side' series, which offers
feedthrough of up to 24kg/

hour, can be mounted on a
trolley for maximum production flexibility.
The X Comb dryers can be
fitted with the Moisture Meter,
a device which supports precise
in-line measurement of residual
granule moisture up to 15 parts
per million. The process meter
can help with validation of material drying, while improving part
aesthetics and functionality.

RECYCLING

US rPET supplies will fall
short of national demand
Detroit, Michigan - Plastics
News, the parent publication
of PRW, has reported that the
US does not have the rPET supplies or processing capacity to
satisfy recycled material commitments being made by bottle
manufacturers.
With a PET recycling rate
of under 30%, and much of
that material being used for
non-bottle applications, the
National Association for PET
Container Resources (NAPCOR) has described the figures
as 'not adding up'.
"We've got a problem and
we're not going to be able to
meet those commitments easily," said Alasdair Carmichael,
program director at NAPCOR.
About half (48%) of all rPET
goes to non-bottle applications, such as carpet fibre and
textiles. Carmichael believes
that if all remaining 52% of material was to be used for bottle

Design

In partnership with Moldex3D, we can
give you 3D simulations of how our
polymer will flow through your design, so
that you can troubleshoot and optimise
product design before tool steel is cut.

Deliver
We know how important it is to have your
material in the right place, at the right time, for
the right job. By making significant investments
in warehousing and logistics facilities, we
can deliver in full, on time, every time.

PET recycling rates in the US
need to improve
production, that would still not
satisfy demand.
Is it estimated that recycling rates for PET material in
the United States will have to
reach 70% to successfully supply demand for rPET, as bottle
makers try to react to customer
demand for green products.
