Kroat-Reder Vice President
Human Resources, eff ective 1
May 2021. Hilmar Kroat-Reder
joins Borealis from OMV, where
he started in Corporate Development
and M&A in 2002. He then
took over the leadership of the
CEO off ice, followed by the Corporate
Aff airs and Sustainability
function. In 2016, Hilmar joined
the OMV HR team, leading HR
Services, Labour Law and Employer
Relations. Most recently,
he has held the position of VP
Organisational Structure & Design
and led several transformational
projects.

Vanden Recycling has further expanded
its international off ering
with a key promotion at the company's
Istanbul off ice. The Turkish
arm, trading as Vanden Polimer
Geri Donusum A.S., has appointed
Beril Baykal Yeşilırmak
as technical director.
Beril, who joined the compaKaren
Drinkwater
Michael Waas
ny two years ago as business
development manager, has
an extensive career history in
the technical and R&D side of
the plastic industry. In her new
role, she will play a critical role
in building Vanden's technical
infrastructure for all of global
business divisions.

Bekum has appointed Oliver
Wolff (53) as Sales Director at
its Traismauer location in Austria.
Wolff has a degree in business
administration and can look back
on more than 20 years of experience
in leading positions in sales,
business development and marketing
with special machinery
manufacturers in the packaging
industry. Most recently, he was
a member of the management
team and responsible for sales
and marketing at a leading global
manufacturer of plastics and
packaging machinery.

Alice Cummings has been
named Non-Executive Director
at Recycling Technologies (UK),
the company has announced.
Cummings is an experienced
non-executive and executive director
in medium and large private
and listed companies, who
has held a number of senior accountancy
and financial roles in
corporates such as South West
Water and AEA Technology.
She has industry expertise in
engineering, technology, energy
eff iciency and the environment.
Some of her senior roles
today include Non-Executive
Director at aim-listed Idox Plc,
and Non-Executive Director at
South Staff ordshire Water Plc.
At the British Plastics Federation's
second virtual annual
general meeting, Karen
Drinkwater, a founding director
of JSC Rotational Limited,
was elected as the trade association's
president on 19 May
2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic,
the BPF's AGM could
not be held in person for the
second time in its history, with
the off icial voting and handover
taking place online. Karen
Drinkwater succeeds Martin
Althorpe, Technical Director at
Epwin Fenestration Division,
who has held the role since
2019. She is now the first female
president of the BPF.
Responding to surging demand
for sustainable packaging, Tipa
has expanded its presence
in North America with three
new hires: Michael Waas
has been appointed the new
VP for North America; Gary
Robinson is the company's
new Director of Public Aff airs;
and John Michels has been
named Senior Director of Sales
and Market Development. The
three bring extensive expertise
in sustainability and FMCG
packaging to their new roles.
Sesotec GmbH, a provider of
technologies and services for
foreign object detection, material
sorting and analysis, has
a new Vice President of Sales,
Dietmar Dieing. The appointment
was eff ective 1 April. Dieing
is a technical business manager
trained in industrial mechanics
and certified as a mechanical
engineering technician. He has
joined the Sesotec team following
a decade at Zeppelin Systems
GmbH, where he oversaw
proprietary product management
and digitalisation eff orts in
his role as sales manager. In his
last two years at Zeppelin Systems,
Dieing was responsible for
global service in his role as Vice
President of Sales, Customer
Service, and Modernisation.
Christian Kullmann, chairman
of Evonik's executive
board, will head the specialty
chemicals company for another
five years. The supervisory
board has extended his contract
until May 2027. Kullmann,
who has been chairman of
Evonik's executive board since
May 2017, has played a key role
in driving forward the company,
and successfully keeping it on
track in challenging times, " said
Bernd Tönjes, chairman of the
supervisory board of Evonik.
The Supervisory Board of OMV
Aktiengesellschaft has appointed
Alfred Stern (56) as the new
Chairman of the Executive Board
and CEO of OMV, eff ective 1 September.
Stern has accepted the
appointment and will serve for a
three-year period with an extension
option for further two years
subject to mutual consent.
As the former CEO of Borealis,
Stern has extensive experience
in a leadership role in the global
chemical industry. At Borealis,
he oversaw that company's evolution
towards a circular economy:
an evolution that at OMV is
only starting to take shape. The
expertise gained over the years
in this space will serve him well
in this new position.
Biotechnology company RWDC
Industries has announced the
appointment of Thomas Aebischer
as chief financial off icer
and member of the company's
board of directors, eff ective
May 28, 2021. Aebischer brings
four decades of business and
financial experience to RWDC,
including 18 years in public and
private company CFO roles.
Prior to joining RWDC, Aebischer
served as executive vice
president and chief financial officer
for NYSE-listed LyondellBasell,
one of the world's largest
plastics, chemicals and refining
companies, where he was responsible
for leading treasury,
investor relations, information
technology, tax, finance and accounting
functions.
