Fakuma
Extrusion
Arburg will launch its Allrounder More multicomponent injection molding
machine at Fakuma 2021
veloped in-house. These enable
a higher frequency, shorter response
times and a higher repeatability
rate for parts, with
the same operating comfort as
before and the familiar visualization
concept. It also features
the KERS energy recovery technology
originally developed for
the EcoPower. The SmartPlus
is currently undergoing practical
tests at selected customers.
From the 4th quarter of 2021 onwards,
the machine is expected
to be available in a first series
with clamping forces ranging
from 60 to 180 t.
Also on show: an all-electric
EcoPower 55/350, equipped
with the software packages
HiQ Flow, HiQ Melt for material
quality monitoring and HiQ
Metering for active closing of
the check valve will be moulding
a hose clamp for a medical
application in an 8-cavity
mould supplied by WILAmed,
Germany. As well, a multicomponent
LSR application will be
demonstrated on a MicroPower
15/10H/10H Combimould
with two injection units in horizontal
configuration and a rotary
disc. A support ring with a
silicone membrane made of PC
and LSR will be moulded in a
mould constructed in cooperation
with Nexus.
The company is also showcasing
the latest developments
in its Airmould internal gas
pressure at a separate Airmould
centre at the stand. (Hall
B1, stand 1204).
Sinzig-based mechanical engineering
company Feddem
GmbH & Co. KG is presenting
a Fed 43 MTS 32 L/D twinscrew
extruder with a screw
diameter of 43 mm and up to
142 kW drive power for pilot and
production applications of small
to medium batch sizes.
The extruder features, among
others, highly efficient melting
and mixing of product components
through the use of
FME mixing elements offering
kneading-block-free processing
for virtually all types of engineering
thermoplastic materials.
The process length can be
individually adapted per extension
unit.
Also: Feddem has updated
its LFT pultrusion line technology
for the production of
high-performance materials
The result: tight tolerances from
the fibre content in the pellets,
and repeatability of the achievable
material properties of the
LFT compound on different
lines and line sizes, with hauloff
speeds of up to 60 m/min.
through the use of a patented,
modular impregnation tool.
