It features one of the largest concentrations of Victorian architecture in Ontario and is comprised of distinct neighbourhoods where local arts and stylish restaurants are heartily celebrated by visitors and residents alike. The St. Lawrence Market is situated at the Front and Jarvis intersection, where the city originated in 1793 in what is now referred to as the Old Town of York. The market’s north building is open on Saturdays only, when Ontario farmers sell their produce and local artisans bring their wares. In the south building, open Tuesdays to Saturdays, are yearround vendors on two floors.
