mind, OFOS:
* Ensured that all OFOS employees
received laptops with the systems/
applications needed to perform their
duties.
* Compiled a listing of employees' cell
phone numbers and made it available
to OFOS managers.
* Updated staff's Outlook signatures to
include the cell phone number(s) being
used by them while working remotely.
* Forwarded desk phones (including our
main line) to numbers being used by
staff while working remotely.
* Ensured that staff were trained to use
Microsoft Teams.
* Sent communication to staff regarding OFOS's operating status (100%
telework), explaining what it meant;
the planned duration of the operating
status; and expectations for work performance and daily operations while
working remotely.
* Distributed messaging to OCFO

operating status and how we may be
reached while working remotely.
As remote work continues, mail is picked
up once per week from our Waterfront location and distributed electronically to the
intended recipients. Most, if not all, documents requiring signature are now circulated, reviewed, approved, and signed electronically, thereby, eliminating the need for
the exchange and retention of paper documents. We are working more efficiently and
fully embracing the virtual world in which
we now live and work. Consequently, staff/
interoffice meetings, interviews with job
applicants, training sessions, discussions
with the CAFR auditors, and other sessions
are conducted via Microsoft Teams. OFOS
is even planning a virtual retreat to be held
in early October 2020!
These are all changes which others
across the OCFO have undoubtedly implemented. So, what adjustments have OFOS
staff made to accommodate working from
home? After working several months
in "make-shift" offices, from living room
sofas or dining room tables, some people
experienced back aches and muscle
strain. To get some much-needed relief,
they purchased office chairs with lumbar
