*	 A further improvement in the 2018
budget was the incorporation of the
Financial Plan into the BFA, so that
the Plan's out-years can build directly
from the current year's budget database instead of being projected using
off-line spreadsheets.
Conclusion - OBP is Always Focused
on Continuous Improvement
* OBP continues to improve by making
the budget formulation process
better through technology. These
improvements are a great example of
using technology to do more in less
time with fewer employees. Although

the office has 37 percent fewer
employees now than in the 1980s,
its Results-Oriented staff do more
work, faster, and with increasing efficiency. For example, in the first year
using the ABC system, OBP reduced
the time needed to produce budget
chapters for the Mayor's and the final
District proposed budgets by more
than 25 percent.
* OBP is committed to reviewing and
improving the process each year,
working with agency finance staff,
OCIO, and all its other partners. OBP
looks forward to further improvements as the OCFO implements a
new budget system in conjunction
with the new accounting system.
