Analytics Using Oracle Cloud
Services for DIFS
By Narayan Ayyagari,
Reporting and IT Lead for Budget Applications

Joining this project has been an amazing opportunity to contribute and provide
technical input to the District's future
financial platform. It also allows me to establish a road map that clearly integrates analytics,
reporting, and financial applications. By doing
this work, I've changed my perspective from
an operational view to a more transformative
one, with an increased focus on technology can
improve business processes.

M

y name is Narayan Ayyagari, and I serve
as the Reporting and IT Lead for Budget
Applications for the new District Integrated
Financial System (DIFS) Program. My day-today activities focus on integrating Oracle Cloud
services across various agencies and clusters
for the District's financial reporting from its various systems (Oracle, ERP, EPM, PeopleSoft,
Ariba, etc.). Before joining the project, I was
the IT Manager within OCIO, supporting the
District's budget and reporting IT applications
(BFA & CFO$olve). This included the IT activities
for the annual budget formulation and production of the budget books. My team also worked
on modernizing the District's reporting platform
from CFO$olve to Tableau Analytics.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Seeing things through this lens not only
allows me to find integration points, but also
affords me a chance to provide input for key
technical and functional business processes for
DIFS. We've spent a lot of time getting aligned
in this area; hosting workshops, informal discussions, and meetings as part of Blueprinting
Phase. Major requirements have been discovered (e.g. the immense need for a reporting
portal, standardized reporting dashboards at
agency, cluster, and OCFO executive levels).
In addition, through these sessions we are
working extremely hard to breakdown the
silos of clusters/agencies and promote a
District level viewpoint.
I am very excited about this initiative, and
believe we have a great team driving the implementation forward with our unique perspectives
and commitment to achieving a common goal.
