Managing Change for DIFS

I

am the Organizational Change Management Lead and
Training Coordinator for the new District Integrated
Financial System (DIFS) Program. My main responsibility is to ensure that change, as a result of the
new financial system, is easily accepted by all District
employees. Prior to this role, I served as the Director for
Financial Policies & Procedures in the Office of Financial
Operations and Systems (OFOS). There I was responsible for ensuring all financial policies and procedures
were documented and included proper internal controls.
The main difference between the two roles is that I
am now involved in ALL aspects of change (e.g. system
name, financial reporting, accounting policy, etc.).
Previously, I focused only on policy and procedural
changes. In the past, District employees brought
changes to me, but as OCM Lead, I now bring
changes to District employees.
Now, I am part of a dedicated team-many of whom,
I've never worked with before--that challenges me
to improve my teamwork and communication skills.
This role has afforded me tremendous personal
growth, allowing me to expand my knowledge of
organizational change management, and putting
me in a position to really KNOW the new system
as a super user.
