MARTY MCCAULEY
Design Director
FRCH NELSON

BIGGEST FEAR:
DEEP SEA CREATURES.

AGE 38

McCauley has a passion for inspired design solutions and brings
a fresh, energetic approach to the projects he touches. He is
recognized for his ability to activate a brand's unique voice using the power of storytelling and sketching-actionable design
solutions that resonate in today's market. His work with leading brands in retail, restaurant and consumer
packaging-such as Subway, Levi's, Harley-Davidson, Disney, P&G, McDonald's, YUM! Brands, Under Armour,
Cracker Barrel and Walmart-gives him a distinct level of expertise and fresh perspective that can be leveraged
across industries. His creativity and musicality (he is a world-class beatboxer, DJs on the side and collects dusty
old records) help him find inspiration in unexpected places, which informs his refreshing design solutions.
McCauley then works hard to assure a high standard is maintained from idea to execution. In addition to his
daily duties as design director, he leads the firm's internal Interiors Discipline committee in planning field trips
to encourage designers to think outside the box and gain inspiration from their surroundings. McCauley has
continued this commitment to inspiration by serving as a mentor and judge for the retail design studio at Ohio
State University, supporting the students as they envisioned the future of retail.
Dream job: NBA benchwarmer.
Most amazing place I've traveled: So far? The Cliffs of Moher. But the journey continues...

REBECCA PASTERNACK
Senior Project Manager
Jones Lang LaSalle
AGE 36

Pasternack is a licensed architect and LEED accredited
professional with more than
12 years of experience, and
has supported the retail and
AEC industries through organizations, such as the National Association of Women in
Construction, the Retail Design Institute and the American
Institute of Architects. She has worked for three esteemed
luxury retailers-the Estée Lauder Cos., Louis Vuitton, and
Tapestry (formerly Coach Inc.). Her wide-ranging portfolio
includes department store concessions, freestanding stores,
pop-up shops, airport locations and cruise ships in North
America, South America, and Europe. Pasternack's list of
project achievements is extensive and impressive. At the
Estée Lauder Cos., she independently managed the entire
fleet of Clinique North America construction projects,
including opening about 30 department store concessions per year. At Tapestry, she led the implementation of
a new Kate Spade design concept in Latin America and
single-handedly managed the construction of the first new
concept "Modern Luxury" Coach flagship store in Mexico
City, which was the largest and most expensive ground-up
Coach construction project in the country. She continues to
expand her portfolio and areas of expertise in her new role
at Jones Lang LaSalle where she manages the construction
of retail banks in the Northeast.
Dream job: Professional taste tester for high-end vegan restaurants.
Biggest fear: Global warming.
What motivates me: It's thrilling to see drawings on paper
becoming actual spaces.

TOM PHILIPSON
Co-Founder & Managing Director
YourStudio

JAMES PENDERGRAST
Design Director
FITCH
AGE 31

Pendergrast is described
as a true "omnicreative"-
100 percent ambidextrous
in all design and creative
disciplines and a global
creative citizen. He was
born and studied in
New Zealand, worked
at FITCH in London for
four years, spent nearly a year living and working in Shanghai,
and now spends his time living and working between FITCH's
West Coast and New York studios. He moves to where the work is
required and to be close to his clients. He was part of the core team
that delivered adidas' "All in or Nothing" campaign at the 2014
FIFA World Cup in Brazil, focusing on cross-channel, responsive
communications, from art direction, social, print, digital and
out-of-home (OOH). And he worked on the dynamic identity for
the Qatar Football Association, creating a brand that responds to
sound, emotion and social media engagement. He then pivoted
to the world of future automotive, helping develop the Lynk & Co
brand from the ground up. Pendergrast is considered a relentlessly
creative, fun, innovative person who inspires with his unique
cross-disciplinary approach to solving complex brand challenges
combined with an infectiously optimistic attitude.
Guilty pleasure: Woodworking videos on YouTube. So calming.
I'm inspired by: People who give a f**k. About anything, it doesn't
really matter what.
My first job was: Washing dishes. Classic. I went from that to
pyrotechnician for fireworks displays though, which was good fun.

ANSLEY PHILLIPS
Creative Director
WD Partners
AGE 32

Phillips has made her mark at WD
Partners advancing from a copywriter
to creative director in just five years.
Whether in written form, through digital
experiences or embodied in physical
spaces, she is said to have rich instincts
for branding and translating a brand into
communications. She is a collaborative
team member who maintains focus on
the customer and business objectives
as she helps the team elevate a client's
position in the marketplace. Phillips was
a pivotal team member in imagining the
future reinvention of multiple categories
throughout Target stores, via product
storytelling and cohesive brand communications. She also helped reinvigorate
the First Financial Bank brand in a
modern, yet locally relevant expression
in order to build trust with existing
clientele while simultaneously attracting
new customer segments. Phillips
was a core design lead in supporting
the launch of Aramark's new Harvest
Table sub-brand. Her career has included work with Electrolux, Frigidaire,
Microsoft, NFL, Nestlé, JPM Chase, and
she developed numerous experiential
marketing and retail activations for Intel
to connect with gamers. Phillips is a
respected member of the WD Partners'
team and is admired for her work in
the local Columbus design community.
She is actively involved as both a board
member and chair for the programs
committee of AdFed.
Favorite hobby: Gardening when I can,
whiskey when I shouldn't.
Biggest fear: Komodo dragons.
The best advice I ever received: "Knowledge
is only rumor until it lives in the bones."

MY FIRST JOB: I WAS A FARMER IN MY FIRST CAREER.

AGE 37

As co-founder of YourStudio, Philipson is thriving in the business of creativity and innovation. He is connecting
and building relationships with some of the most progressive global brands with office locations in London;
Melbourne, Australia; and now Amsterdam. Strategic and creative, YourStudio works with brands who want to
break boundaries and engage with customers on a personal level, leaving lasting memories and impressions.
Philipson's passion for transformational change has led to work on international (award-winning) design
projects, from global retail and consumer brands to uniquely experiential installations. YourStudio's list of clients
includes everything from fashion brands like Nike and Topshop to product brands such as Pandora and Mars Chocolate.
And the team has successfully transformed high street holiday retail with experiential stores for Virgin Holidays.
Philipson is recognized for his natural talent for interpreting design, as well as understanding the client's commercial
needs. He is considered a gifted leader and mentor. He has led keynote talks and strategic thinking sessions for global
think tank brands, participated in numerous industry events and launched new platforms within YourStudio to educate
peers on sustainable products for interior and brand experience.
Most amazing place I've traveled: India.
My happy place: I run most mornings, but I love being in the mountains snowboarding.
