DESIGN DESIGN:RETAIL JUNE 2019 WINDOW WATCHING Coach Wows COACH LAUNCHES BESPOKE WINDOWS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MACY'S IN HONOR OF MOTHER'S DAY By Jessie Dowd PHOTOS BY BILL WALDORF ➞ IN CELEBRATION OF Mother's Day, iconic accessories label Coach partnered with Macy's to unveil windows with a "wow" factor at the Macy's Herald Square flagship in New York. The windows acknowledged a universal Mother's Day truth-every mom likes flowers-but with a uniquely Coach spin. On display from April 15 through May 14, the windows featured a dramatic overload of pretty prints, taken from Coach's Mother's Day product capsule. Working with six major windows, the concept was to spell "I love you mom" in a graphic way. The end result spelled "I ♥ U M♥M" with both hearts acting as digital installations where shoppers could interact with the brand and share on social media. Passersby engaged with the windows by pushing the heart-shaped button in the middle heart window, triggering a light show-and lots of Instagram stories, we're betting. We ♥ windows! 12
