Kids can let their imaginations soar in
the newly expanded Lancaster Science
Factory, featuring exhibits where
children can create as they learn the
principles of science, engineering, and
technology. Little ones will enjoy a
day in the indoor village at Tiny Town
featuring nine luxury playhouses. The
North Museum of Nature & Science is a
great museum geared towards hands-on
learning for kids. If your family prefers
arts and crafts, Pottery Works and Gem
Dem offer a creative outlet with pottery
and jewelry making.

History

As one of the oldest inland cities in
America and serving as the U.S. Capital
for a day, history is just waiting to be
shared at locations throughout the city
with a Historic Lancaster Walking Tour
or a visit to President James Buchanan's
home and Lancaster's historic society
museum, LancasterHistory.
Featuring history, fresh produce,
local goodies, and a strong sense of
community, Lancaster Central Market,
America's oldest continuously operating
farmers market, is a Downtown "mustvisit." Market is open on Tuesday, Friday,
or Saturday. Plan extra time to wander
the aisles for locally sourced fruits and
vegetables, and baked goods.

E vents

Lancaster's special events add an extra
element of excitement to the city. The
monthly First and Third Friday events
feature art and live music and extended
gallery hours to give you a taste of the
community art scene.
The summer brings Celebrate Lancaster,
a festival to celebrate the cultures
and Downtown communities, and the
Lancaster Craft Beerfest, featuring over
50 craft breweries, food and live music.
Fitness fans will enjoy the Red Rose Run,
while locals and visitors alike love the
Harvest Breakfast hosted in October.
