Weekend Information Saturday, January 10 WALT DISNEY WORLD® Half Marathon presented by CIGNA 5:45 a.m. – Wheelchair Start 5:50 a.m. – Wave 1 Start 6:00 a.m. – Wave 2 Start 6:15 a.m. – Wave 3 Start Start: Epcot® Parking Lot Sunday, January 11 WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon presented by CIGNA 5:45 a.m. – Wheelchair Start 5:50 a.m. – Runners Start Start: Epcot® Parking Lot Athlete Transportation to the Start Monorail transportation will be provided to those participants staying at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, and Disney’s Polynesian Resort beginning at 3:00 a.m. The Monorail will transport you to the Ticket and Transportation Center where you will board a second Monorail that will transport you to Epcot®. Participants must board Monorails by 4:00 a.m. to be on time for the start. Special Marathon Weekend Transportation will begin departure from all other WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resorts at 3:00 a.m. Buses will be indicated by Marathon Weekend Transportation signs placed in the front windows. Participants must board buses by 4:00 a.m. to be on time for the start. Bag Check If you plan to check personal items on race morning, you MUST use the clear bag provided to you as a goody bag at Disney’s Health & Fitness Expo. Due to safety regulations and limited storage space, the race staff cannot accommodate full-sized suitcases, paper bags, or clothing bundles. Please do not check valuables. The race staff is not responsible for baggage, although every effort will be made to have your baggage waiting for you after the race. Volunteers will affix your Bag Check Tag (attached to your race number) when you check in pre-race at the Bag Check tents located in the Family Reunion area at Epcot®. All clear bags must be checked prior to 5:00 a.m. on race morning. Half Marathon baggage must be claimed before 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Marathon baggage must be claimed before 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Unclaimed baggage will be transferred to Epcot® Guest Relations, located to the right of the park entrance. Please visit during park hours to claim lost items. Articles of clothing that are found on the course will be donated to charity. Corral and Wave Assignments Corral and Wave Assignments will be given during Packet Pickup at Disney’s Health & Fitness Expo. The letter on your race number will determine your assigned corral. Letters are assigned based on your estimated finishing time. Signs, announcements, and race personnel will direct you to the appropriate start line on race day. The Start The start zone for both the Half Marathon and the Marathon is located in the Wonder Parking Lot at Epcot®. Please plan on at least a 20-minute walk from the start zone to your corral. The letter on your race number will correspond with your assigned corral. Signs and event personnel will help you find your corral. For safety reasons, and as a courtesy to others, please line up in the appropriate corral. Measures will be taken to prevent unofficial runners from starting. 14
