How to Develop an Urban Assisted
Living Site
By Michael Liu

dense urban areas do exist-and stand to become more popular in years to come. But

those of their suburban counterparts.

Photo Tour: The Brielle at Seaview
The Brielle at Seaview, a new assisted living community in Staten Island, N.Y., opened
its doors in November 2015. The 103,000-square-foot community is owned by the
Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty and managed by FilBen Group (Rye Brook, N.Y.).
It was designed by MHG Architects (New York) and features 122 one- and two-bedroom
suites along with a wing on the third floor that's for memory care residents.

Boom or Bust
By Gary Vance
It takes a lot to lure baby boomers out of their homes and into senior living communities,
but there are several design solutions that will put organizations in a better place to
attract-and not deter-this highly sought after generation.
