OAK TRACE
Oak Trace, a 247-unit senior living community in Downers Grove,
Ill., is undergoing a redevelopment and expansion project. The first
phase of the redevelopment will include a new health center with
66 assisted living apartments, 28 memory support suites, and 102
skilled nursing suites. Construction is expected to begin in the fall
and wrap up in 2019. Next, a second phase will begin with the
addition of more than 150 apartments in a variety of floor plans
and amenities including multiple restaurants, a fitness center and
spa, and an expansion of the library and auditorium for continued
learning and entertainment functions.
Primrose Retirement Communities started construction
on a new $4.9 million senior living project in Lancaster, Ohio. The
24,912-square-foot Primrose Memory Care will feature 24 private
suites, a spa and beauty salon, coffee bar, library, dining and living
rooms, and an interior courtyard with a fountain. The Douglas Co.
(Holland, Ohio) is the general contractor on the project and WAI
Continuum (St. Paul, Minn.) is the design firm. The memory care
community is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
Spanish Cove, a continuing care retirement community in
Yukon, Okla., is undergoing a renovation and expansion project
this fall. Eppstein Uhen Architects (Milwaukee) is serving as the
architect for the renovation of the skilled nursing and assisted living areas of the facility. The 34,000-square-foot expansion will add
43 units, including nine assisted living units, 20 nursing care units,
and 14 memory care units. The Boldt Co. (Appleton, Wis.) is handling preconstruction, site work, and construction management.
Summit Vista broke ground on the first phase of its continuing care retirement community in Taylorsville, Utah. The senior
living community will include independent living, assisted living,
home care, nursing care, memory care, and rehabilitation services. Located on a 105-acre campus, Summit Vista features a
62,000-square-foot clubhouse offering amenities and services
that promote active living, including a 25-yard lap pool, a fitness
center, clubs and activity studios, and three restaurants. Summit
Vista is also working with Intermountain Healthcare of Salt Lake
City to provide a variety of on-site healthcare services.
