Williamsburg Landing, Memory Support Residence and Adult Day Center, Williamsburg, Va. Submitted by: RLPS Architects With a mission-driven goal to provide adult day services within the new memory care residence, the project team was challenged to make the inclusion of that offering financially feasible to build and operate. The solution was to use the natural grade of the site to include adult day services on the lower level, thus avoiding the cost of constructing a separate building. Plus, coordination of the residential and day service operations allows Williamsburg Landing to meet its goals while also controlling costs, thanks to shared staff and program resources. The combined spaces expand the program offerings and opportunities for residents of the two populations to interact and engage beyond what could be accomplished if operated independently. 46 EFAmagazine.com * Spring 2019 NATHAN COX PHOTOGRAPHY (EXTERIOR); CRAIG DAVENPORT, WILLIAMSBURG, VA (INTERIOR) Operationshttp://www.rmpassociates.com/ http://www.rmpassociates.com/ http://www.EFAmagazine.com
