Upon acquiring the property,
Juniper Communities began a phased
effort to refresh and reinvigorate the
community. The project transformed
underutilized and dated interiors to
expand dining and amenity offerings. Paired with the community's
comprehensive programming, these

Jury comments:
* Space planning provided open
areas for more expansive views
and maximum use of daylight.
Good use of value contrast to
define architectural elements
and furniture. Ceilings and wall
area had high light reflective
values making the space bright
and light to maximize aging
vision. Patterns on furnishings
provide interest without being
too busy.
* This project took underutilized
spaces to expand dining options
for residents of this community.

dining area below, creating visual
connectivity between the floors.
The reworking of former offices
and lounge space to create the
Oak Lounge and Newsroom Café
were done well through the warm
color palette, lighting selection and
visual connections to the exterior.
* A major transformation! The
design team did a great job
creating a nice variety of dining
experiences. I really like that cable
railing in Thirty-Two Club. Very
nice project!
* The transformation of each space
was accomplished through wellselected and limited architectural
intervention which kept the cost
low. The interior design is modest
yet has a big impact. The creation
of the two-story space adds
drama that is not typically seen for
this cost; well done.
* The before and after photos for
this project are remarkable. Just
by refreshing and reorganizing the
common areas, the designers and
organization were able to not only
achieve a great environment, but more
amenities offerings for the residents.
