Golden Gate Members Expand Their Horizons Suzanne Lawler, Accounting Manager, Stein & Lubin LLP     The Golden Gate Chapter is pleased to announce that two of its members have been chosen to serve ALA in positions outside of the Chapter. SUSAN BONNER, Office Administrator of Liebert Cassidy Whitmore in San Francisco for the past nine years, has been selected as a Region 6 Officer. Susan has been an ALA member since 2003 and has served on a number of committees including Education, Salary Survey, and Knowledge to Leadership. Additionally, she served as Treasurer on the Executive Board for two years before becoming the Golden Gate Chapter Vice President/President Elect, then President in 20092010. During Susan’s tenure, she accomplished many things, heading the committees to redesign the Chapter’s website and logo, reviewing and revamping our By-Laws, and instituting a Chapter Policy and Procedures manual. She also worked with the Business Partner Committee to develop Business Partner logos, and worked on the RFP process to identify a new vendor for the Chapter’s very successful salary survey. Susan is currently the Chapter’s Immediate Past President. Susan joins the rest of the Region 6 Team lead by our very own Steve Morris. As Matt Ogden and Helen Ferentinos move off the Regional Team, Susan joins teammates Cindy Snook of Sacramento, newly-appointed Stacy Morrison of Newport Beach, and an incoming Director-at-Large Teresa Walker of Nashville, Tennessee. JOHN HEGNA, Firm Administrator at Roisman Hennel in Oakland, has been selected for the 2013 Annual Conference Committee. The conference is scheduled to be held in National Harbor, Maryland on April 15-18, 2013. John has been an ALA member since 1998, when he joined the Puget Sound Chapter. During his time with PSALA, he served on their Vendor Relations Committee, and was a founding member of their Diversity Committee, spearheading the first ever PSALA Chapter entry in the Seattle Pride Parade in which over 20 administrators and friends participated. In 2008, John moved to San Diego where he joined the local chapter and founded the San Diego Chapter’s Diversity Committee, winning an award at the 2011 Orlando Annual Conference for the Chapter’s first diversity fair. In yet another move, this one landing John in San Francisco, he continues his involvement in ALA as the Golden Gate Chapter’s Diversity Co-Chair. Congratulations to Susan and John as the prepare for their new ALA responsibilities! 5 Golden Gate Chapter January 2012
