Groovy, baby: A guest room on the hotel’s 1960s-themed oor

New neighbors 25hours and Levi’s work together to pull a fun little hotel out of their back pocket.

he 25hours Hotel Frankfurt Tailored by Levi’s was born out of a real-estate coincidence: The two companies independently leased adjacent buildings in that German city’s Main Station district. And, as neighbors are wont to do, executives from the iconic denim label and the boutique hotel chain got to talking. Those discussions ultimately lead to a 76-key hotel that is a six-story exercise in co-branding. “Like a good pair of wornin blue jeans, we wanted to create a place that would be timeless and comfortable,” says Christoph Hoffmann, 25hours’ ceo.
To create the interior of this Design Hotels’ locale, 25hours again turned to two local artists—painter Delphine Buhro and sculptor Michael Dreher. (That duo also designed the hotelier’s rst property in Frankfurt, the Goldman 25hours.) Hoffmann says the company is open to working with artists such as Dreher and Buhro because “traditional interior designers in Germany are more architects and planners than creatives. Artists, on the other hand, tend to enter the project with very open minds. They create and combine elements without any fear and—in a positive way— without respect of traditions.” In keeping with that break-the-mold outlook, Dreher says he and Buhro view guest rooms “as a white piece of canvas that we want to give a soul, rather than a décor.” For the 25hours Tailored by Levi’s rooms, the artists gave that ethos some
