B O U T I Q U E B U Z Z Mirrors, Mirrors in the Spa hen we profiled Philippe Starck’s elegant update of Le Royal Monceau hotel in Paris earlier this year, its spa was not yet finished. (See “Parisian Palace” on page 36 of Boutique Design’s May+June 2011 issue.) In the interest of W completeness—and because we find pretty much anything Starck designs worthy of a look—we can now offer you some details on the hotel’s now-opened Spa My Blend by Clarins. Starck said his goal was “to create an ethereal white paradise of luxurious simplicity and timeless elegance that would inspire relaxation and pampering.” To that end, the 16,000-sq.-ft. spa is dominated by white surfaces, interspersed with lots and lots of mirrors. Serving as the space’s centerpiece is a 92-ft.-long swimming pool that’s bathed in natural light. 12 Boutique Design | November+December 2011 Courtesy of Spa My Blend by Clarinshttp://www.angelacameron.com http://www.angelacameron.com
