Jaguar Suite Motors Into London Hotel
A
hotel room designed for serious car buffs (with some serious bucks) has opened in the 51 Buckingham Gate Taj Suites and Residences in London. The 1,832-sq.-ft. Jaguar Suite is a collaboration between Jaguar and Taj Hotels and Palaces, which are both owned by India’s TATA conglomerate. Cost per night: just under $7,900. The two-bedroom, residential-style space was created by Jaguar design director Ian Callum and his in-house team and features materials used in the brand’s cars, including leather, metal and high-gloss veneer. Other details include a clean-fuel fireplace, which references the car make’s signature rear window; ebony veneer doors; wood paneling; custom-made Jaguar wallpaper; and auto-inspired art and collector’s items.

Review: Point of Excellence Awards
hip Norton of Norton Enterprises and Ron McDaniel of Townsend Leather are the latest recipients of Wilson Associates’ Point of Excellence Awards, which honor vendors and service providers in the design industry who repeatedly go above and beyond what’s expected to better serve their clients. Norton’s company is an independent representative for FF&E manufacturers, while McDaniel’s firm makes upholstery leather for hospitality settings. The two were honored at an annual awards luncheon held at The Ritz-Carlton in Dallas. Proceeds from the event benefit the Wilson Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Wilson Associates’ founder Trisha Wilson in 1997 that provides financial support for a variety of educational, health care and community outreach programs.
