AND ITS OWNERS/DEVELOPERS HAVE INVESTED TO REVITALIZE THE HOTELIER’S NEW ORLEANS BOUTIQUE DONS “SUMMER DRESS” Each year, the International House boutique hotel in New Orleans alters its furnishings, foliage and staff attire to coincide with the city’s steamy summer season. In a tradition dating back to the Big Easy’s pre-air conditioning days, the lobby of the 117-key hotel—which features 23-ft.-tall ceilings—has donned its “summer dress,” which this year includes cotton slipcovers and sisal rugs, along with native banana leaves, palms, fragrant floating blossoms and a spiraling topiary. The design is a collaboration by hotel owner Sean Cummings and interior designer LM Pagano.
