JACQUELINE MCGEE

MCGEE IS A NATIVE Londoner who started her career as an art director for stage,
film and BBC-TV productions in the U.K. before moving to the U.S. to work on
Hollywood feature films. (Her credits include Oprah Winfrey's "Beloved.") She joined
CBT in 2004 as a senior interior designer for hospitality and high-end residential
projects, and was named a principal at the firm last fall. Among the important
design trends for 2014 that she identifies in the "Inspiring Ideas" feature that starts
on page 38 is the "seize-the-stay" movement that's pushing the proliferation of
pop-up hotels.
JIM HAMILTON
CARLSON REZIDOR Hotel Group is importing its upper-upscale Radisson Blu
hotel flag to the U.S. in a big way, and Hamilton is playing a central role in that
effort. As leader of the hotel and leisure design team at Scotland-based Graven
Images, Hamilton has overseen the creation of the public spaces within the first
three Blu locales in America. The most recent of those projects, the conversion of
the historic Warwick Hotel in Philadelphia to the Blu brand, is profiled on page
24. The centerpiece of Hamilton's efforts at that property is a text-laden lobby
like no other.

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT & MANAGING DIRECTOR | WILSON ASSOCIATES
AN IN-HOUSE entrepreneur at Wilson, Kwan has created the firm's Blueplate
Studios, which specializes in designing food-and-beverage concepts, and its
Redline Studios, which offers conceptual architectural and interiors services
for clients seeking to strengthen their brand identity and equity. Kwan is a
prodigious traveler and insightful trends tracker with more than 20 years of
experience in design, management, finance, and food and beverage operations.
He details the rise of "sans frontier" public spaces in hotels and several other
emerging design-related phenomena in the "Inspiring Ideas" feature (page 38).
