WHAT JOB CHANGES HAVE YOU MADE SINCE BEING NAMED TO THE B18?

To continue to hone my design skills and experience new professional challenges,
I first moved to Wilson Associates and then joined Jeffrey Beers Intl. in May 2013.
WHAT MAJOR CHANGES HAVE YOU SEEN IN THE DESIGN FIELD SINCE
BEING NAMED TO THE B18?

I see a significant development in materials, ranging from fabrics that have
higher recycled content to faux skins that look and feel as good as the real
thing. There is also an increased awareness of budget and value, with clients
appreciating materials that not only are long-lasting but also timeless and
represent a design value, as much as an economic one.
HOW DID BECOMING PART OF THE B18 IMPACT YOUR CAREER?

The award started many conversations! Clients, colleagues and collaborators
approached me at meetings and industry events to discuss my profile in Boutique
Design magazine, which helped expand my professional network exponentially.

GREENERY BLOSSOMS AS PANTONE'S
COLOR OF THE YEAR FOR 2017
Color authority Pantone has revealed Greenery, a fresh yellow-green shade, as
its 2017 color of the year. The X-Rite unit's color experts describe the company's latest pick as a hue "that evokes the first days of spring when nature's
greens revive, restore and renew."
Company officials attribute the selection-specifically PANTONE
15-0343-to a craving for immersion in the natural world, as society becomes
increasingly submerged in modern realities. They say the shift is reflected by
the recent abundance of greenery in urban planning, architecture, lifestyle
and design choices internationally.
"The tangy yellow-green speaks to our desire to express, explore, experiment and reinvent, imparting a sense of buoyancy," says Leatrice Eiseman,
executive director of the Pantone Color Institute. "Through its reassuring yet
assertive vibrancy, Greenery offers us self-assurance and boldness to live life
on our own terms, during a time when we are redefining what makes us
successful and happy."
When it comes to integrating the color in interiors, the company's experts
say Greenery highlights open spaces and floor-to-ceiling windows that allow
the outdoors to become part of a room's backdrop. Incorporating the color
via living walls and terrariums, as well as botanical-themed wallpaper, paint,
accent furniture and decor, provides a sense of respite.
The institute examines a wide range of influences-including the entertainment industry and films in production, traveling art collections and
new artists, fashion, all design disciplines and trending travel destinations,

as well as new lifestyles, playstyles and socio-economic conditions-to
make its yearly selection.

We are just completing a renovation of the historic El San Juan Hotel (shown),
updating all public areas and guest rooms of that iconic property in Puerto
Rico. We also recently completed guest room and suite renovations in the
Fontainebleau Versailles Tower in Miami Beach.
