Fargo-Moorhead Visitor Guide 2021 - 14

FOOD & DRINK

Summer has another name in Fargo, Patio season! Whether
you're enjoying a meal, drinks, or just a nice conversation with
some friends, here are some great patio options throughout
the metro area:

	 Fargo Brewing
Company Makeover
Q/A with founder
Aaron Hill from Fargo
Brewing Company

1. What can we expect from the new remodel? Outside, a brand
new area for concerts, events, and a patio. Inside, updated taproom,
event center, food & coffee vendors. The only thing that's not new?
Commitment to high quality, approachable beers.
2. What are you most excited for? Partnering with Jade Presents to
offer year-round entertainment.
3. Your favorite beer and why? I love Iron Horse! I really like IPA's,
so it's nice to get that kind of flavor with a lower ABV.

CRAFTY
Sidewalk

Alleyway & Back Patios

Spilling onto the sidewalks of many of the
city's bars and restaurants, sidewalk patios
are perfect for outdoor dining. Brew Bird's
patio started serving up tiki food specials
out of a funky van while Harold's on Main
has a picturesque patio that's perfect for a
tasty cocktail. At Pounds, you'll find the 90s
theme that is perfect for a millennial who
loves their comfort food. Luna is a perfect
option for a nice charcuterie board and a
bottle of wine while Wurst Bier Hall's two
locations both have German fare like brats
and beer steins. Another great lunch spot
if you're looking to dine with your pup is
Teddy's Eatery & Parlor which has an
awesome patio in the heart of Downtown
Fargo that's super dog friendly.

Tucked between buildings, these patios are
private and adorable. The Boiler Room has
a beautiful, tucked away patio on Roberts
Alley while Front Street Taproom has an
intimate feel and is a great choice for some
local and regional beers. The Toasted Frog
is right across from the Fargo Theatre which
makes for dinner and a view of the bustling
Downtown. For a family-friendly option, the
historic Red Raven Espresso Parlor has an
awesome patio with local art hanging from
the exposed brick walls and string lights
to light up the space. Also a top choice,
Bulldog Tap in South Fargo to enjoy a
bulldog (obviously) or some regional
beers on their tucked away patio.

2021 OFFICIAL VISITORS GUIDE

These larger outdoor seating areas
are probably what you picture when
you think of yourself on a patio in the
summer. Brewtus Brickhouse has an
enclosed glass area that keeps you
out of the prairie winds while you play
cornhole on a summer evening while
The Cork 'N Cleaver keeps you
protected with beautiful flowers and
vines surrounding the seating area.
Downtown, you'll find Fort Noks Bar
of Gold comes alive whatever the time
of day while the Old Broadway is a
historical choice for some lunch.

Rooftop
Like the name suggests, these are up on
top of the restaurants and bars throughout
the town. Cowboy Jacks has a huge patio
that overlooks the northernmost part of
Downtown Fargo and their menu is chock-full
of Midwest favorites like Sloppy Joes and $2
burgers while Drunken Noodle & Slurp are
just down the street and have a different view
of the main drag while they serve up Asian
style noodles. Rhombus
Guys is also in the
Downtown area and has
a large, relaxed patio
perfect for enjoying a
pizza and a brew.

Wine

Cider & Mead

There are actually six full-scale wineries
(pg. 44) in Fargo and the surrounding area.
Many of them specialize in Frontenac wines
made from cold-weather, hearty grapes that
grow well in Fargo's climate and create a
variety of drier wines.

Wild Terra Cider Bar - the first urban cidery
in the state - serves local and regional
ciders in a reclaimed stable, or head a little
outside of Fargo to Cottonwood Cider
House for local apple goodness.

Fruit wines are also popular, created with
fruits like plums, rhubarb, or chokecherries
that grow well in North Dakota and ferment
into sweeter wines.

North Dakota is the nation's biggest
producers of honey, so local wine makers
at Prairie Rose Meadery decided to start
fermenting it into mead (a.k.a. honey wine!).

Crafts & Drafts Pass
Pick up your pass at any of the local breweries or visitors centers.
Then, get a stamp at each of the stops to get a free trapper hat
or t-shirt and a bonus prize.
