Summer OUTDOORS Bike Golf With 200 miles of bike trails in Fargo-Moorhead, rent a two-wheeled ride from any of the Great Rides Bike Share stations and cruise along the Red River or through the city's beautiful parks. For a little more adventure, Gooseberry Park and MB Johnson Park have 3.5 and 4-mile mountain biking trails. Seven public golf courses (pg. 46) mean plenty of places to practice your swing. From the natural links course at The Meadows and sprawling fairways of Osgood to riverside holes at Edgewood and rolling greens at Rose Creek, you'll find yardage and terrain for all ability levels. In town, check out the Red River Trail of the North (5 miles) and MB Johnson Park (2 miles). For longer hikes, head just outside the city to Buffalo River State Park or the Sheyenne Grasslands (1-20 miles). The grasslands and urban woods along the Red River provide ample birding opportunities. The Audubon Dakota restoration initiative has been rehabilitating the natural habitats of birds of the region, so you can spot all sorts of feathered friends native to North and South Dakota.
