participants will also race
at Banff. Our council has raced
as Schusski Race League since
1978. Our council encourages
participation by financial support. You are invited to join us
on the race course and on our
trips. There are also two mini
race clinics with ROKKA Race
League before the December and
January race dates. Contact

Our clubs also have other
interests. This year, Huntington
Beach Ski Club also participated
in the Bike MS - Bay to Bay
event held on October 20 and 21,
2017. Their support is very personal, since one of their members has MS. Vand Bakke Ski
Club ran in an event supporting

A typical midweek activity for Fountain Valley Ski Club members
is to head for the surrounding ocean, bays and waterways for "Wet
Wednesdays" - one of the benefits of living so near the Pacific Ocean.

Fullerton. Balboa Ski and Sports
Club members have for years
supported the Komen Race for
the Cure in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA. Others support
the United States Adaptive Recreation Center (USARC), Disabled Sports Eastern Sierra, and
Packages of Gratitude for military persons overseas.
Orange Council welcomes
all club members to the annual
Orange Council Picnic on October 21, 2017 in Newport Beach.
It is an Orange Council sponsored event, free to members.
Our annual Presidents' Dinner is
scheduled for February 19, 2018.
In 2017, we had Jane Wyckoff,
FWSA Convention Chairperson,
and Graeme Landenslager, Club
Med Representative.
Whether it's on Alpine, Nor-

dic, Mono, or Shaped Skis, snowboards, snowshoes, dog or horse
drawn sleds or snowmobiles, our
people plan to have fun in the
snow! A number of our clubs
can be found on Facebook, MeetUp, YouTube and the Orange
Council website. Look for them
on future information sites, just
trying to reach out to people who
love the things that they do!
Some of the current clubs
were part of the historic inception
in 1971, and others are just making history - skiing - enjoying
snowsports, making and being
friends - all of the things associated with ski clubs with all seasons activities. Each of our clubs
is unique - therefore, it is easy to
say - there is a club especially for
you. Please see the list in the next
column to find a club near you.
