The Value of Partners!

A partnership is a relationship involving
close cooperation between parties having
specified and joint rights, responsibilities and
benefits. In the Far West world, it is the close
working relationship that we have with our
many ski industry friends and family throughout
the western United States and Canada.
Partnership and sponsorship are an integral
part of our organization. We continue to
grow that relationship from year to year, and
even more so at the Far West Ski Association
Annual Convention. We rely on sponsors for
the Annual Michael German Memorial Golf
Tournament, the casual and relaxing Pub Crawl,
the always-fun Pool Party and other activities,
as well as, beverage and entertainment
sponsors, and meal sponsors. In addition, our
Program Sponsors generously provide trips to
our award recipients of the Councils' Man
and Woman of the Year, the Western Ski
Heritage Award, the Richard Lubin Safety
Award, and the Environment Award.
The Far West Ski Association Annual
Convention is the perfect way for our club
and council members and industry to share
productive one-on-one-time. Our members
have the opportunity to meet and greet representatives
from the resorts, lodging companies,
and tour operators throughout the country, to
plan trips for their group. On the flip side, our
partners are provided a venue to showcase
their resort, or business, and bring people in to
see them. Even more importantly, club members
have the opportunity to bid on ski and
adventure packages, while everyone has a
great time at the Silent Auction and Trade
Show!
Being a partner with Far West Ski Association
presents bonuses to both our members
and to our partners in another way.
Our
Member Benefits Program provides a way to
promote a business by offering a deal or discount
to our members on various goods and
products. There is no cost involved, other
than the discount provided. FWSA members
simply show proof of membership in our organization,
and can then enjoy discounted
rates on transportation, ski rental, clothing,
and lodging at some of their favorite ski areas.
You'll find that your ski trip can be made more
pleasurable and affordable by taking advantage
of some of these benefits.
We have many wonderful lodging partners
who offer discounted rates, including The Atlantis
Casino Resort Spa, in Reno, The Tahoe
Biltmore in Crystal Bay, NV, and The Peaks
Hotel, in Park City. We also have a host of ski
shops and services offering reduced prices on
ski rentals and gear including Ski Essentials,
or Meier Skis, in Colorado and Powder
House, in the Lake Tahoe area.

Far West Ski Association values the continued

Lubin Safety Award, honoring the person

within FWSA who demonstrates strong promotional
efforts to safe skiing and safety programs
at the club and/or council level through
organized events. Big White Ski Resort sponsors
the Far West Councils' Man and
Woman of the Year Recognition Program,
presented to outstanding individual council
representatives who have made a major contribution
to skiing and to their club, council
and Far West. Steamboat Ski and Resort
Corporation sponsors the Western Ski Heritage
Award, recognizing outstanding effort in
the area of ski history by historians in the
identification of resource materials through
the collection, preservation and protection of
appropriate articles and material. Aspen Skiing
Company has been sponsoring the Environment
Award for the past six years. This
Award honors an individual who demonstrates
good stewardship. and takes a creative
effort to conserve and protect our environment.
