Membership in FWSA

Why do I want to be a member of the Far West Ski Association? Simply
stated " it has to do with the law of large numbers " . When you start planning
for a family vacation you might find the travel cost is higher for a
family of three versus a family of six. This is the situation one finds themselves
in when they travel with the Association, more people, better costs
and discounts.
Many of you that are reading this article are part of a club in your community;
however, there are some people that do not have that advantage.
So, FWSA offers direct membership that will give full benefits for travel
and discounts. To be a member of a local club that is included in one of the
councils gives you full benefits, as well. There may be reasons one prefers
to be a direct member. We don't ask why. We allow you to make your choice.
Direct memberships that are registered through the new www.fwsa.org website
will be on a 12-month basis. You will be notified close to the time when
the renewal timeframe is coming. You'll be able to pay the membership dues
and be renewed for another 12 months. This saves you the confusion of
" am I still a member " ? We'd like to have you with us for all the trips and activities
that will continue into the future.
Speaking of the future, we all need to stay positive that we will be out
of this pandemic soon and we can get back to traveling and get-togethers
with all of our friends. FWSA is a family of skiers, boarders, and adventure
seekers throughout the country. Did you know that our association is a
member of the National Ski Council Federation (NSCF) that covers the entire
country? The NSCF is very involved with the National Ski Areas Association
(NSAA) and other entities in the skiing industry. You are included
in the large number of recreational skiers and boarders that make this industry
work. Feel proud of this and know your membership has value and
is important. ss

issues are available online.
The 2021-2022 edition of the Far
West Skier's Guide - the 34th Annual - is
available online at www.fwsa.org. Since
the 2010-2011 issue, each annual edition
has been digitized and remains accessible
on the FWSA website. The 20212022
issue will also be available on the
National Ski Council Federation website
- www.skifederation.org - which serves
30 country wide Ski Councils with approximately
300,000 members. The Far
West Skier's Guide can also be accessed
from FWSA ski council member websites
and many affiliated club sites.

One of the major reasons to join a FWSA club, council or the Far West
Ski Association as a direct member is the travel opportunities.
