Far West Ski Foundation Celebrates
Snowsports & Philanthropy Investing
in the Future of Snowsports

The overarching objective of the Far
West Ski Foundation (FWSF) is to sustain
snowsport to ensure that the inspirational experiences
of snowsport will remain for future
generations. The snowsport umbrella includes
training and competition in alpine disciplines,
cross-country skiing, jumping, and
snowboarding. Snowsport also includes enabling
the disabled, as well as, research and
educational programs.
The Foundation makes long term investments
to meet its objective and mission areas
by raising funds from individuals and organizations.
It then grants funds to those recipient
organizations that conduct programs in the
Foundation's several mission areas.
The FWSF builds upon the legacy of
snowsports competition through scholarship
grants for individual student-athletes, selected
based on competitive athletic performance, academic
potential, community service and need.
We support adaptive snowsports programs
to enhance restoration to vigor from injury
or to animate the physically challenged.

centers within its territory that practice onSki

Ski Dazzle ® - The Los Angeles Ski Show & Snowboard
Expo ® is the first event to be inducted into Los Angeles Convention
Center " Hall of Fame " .
Celebrating the Convention Center's 50th Anniversary and
its newly established " Hall of Fame " , General Manager Ellen
Schwartz recognized three events that embody the spirit of the
LACC. " The Hall of Fame recognizes significant events that have contributed
to the success of this Center, " said Schwartz.
The first award was presented to Jim Foster and Judy Gray,
founders of Ski Dazzle who commented: " We were totally surprised
when Ellen Schwartz called Ski Dazzle to the podium to be honored as
the first inductee into the Los Angeles Convention Center's new Hall of
Fame. Being the longest running event produced in the building, we are
mindful of the special relationship we have with the City of Los Angeles
and the LA Convention Center. We are honored to have been selected
among those recognized. "
Two other shows were honored: the LA Auto Show and
Anime Expo.
To commemorate their induction, Mayor Eric Garcetti presented
each of the organizers with a framed proclamation from
the City of Los Angeles. ss

snow rehabilitative techniques. Of special interest

service persons or veterans.
Support the legacy of the snowsports
heritage by research, preservation, education,
and publication of snowsports history. The
FWSF will work with museums and other organizations
within its territory to enhance
common objectives.

Congratulations!
This year marks the 58th annual presentation of one of
North America's largest consumer ski and snowboard shows and
sales in America. Jim Foster and Judy Gray are long-time industry
partners with Far West Ski Association, providing sponsorships to
the Association's Annual Convention for many years, and welcoming
FWSA, councils and clubs to promote their programs at
the event. The Far West Ski Association congratulates Ski Dazzle,
for being honored as the First Inductee into the Los Angeles Convention
Center's Hall of Fame
