Central Council
of California

Central Council of California
is made up of the cluster of
ski clubs located in the central
part of California, stretching from
the central coast to the foothills
of the Sierra. As a council, we
are all about supporting our
seven member clubs (Fresno Ski
Club, Outdoor Recreation Enthusiasts,
Clovis Ski and Travel Club,
Avalanche Ski Club, SLO Skiers,
Santa Barbara Ski Club, and
Camber Ski Club), building
friendships, and supporting our
larger organizations, Far West Ski
Association and the National Ski
Council Federation.
As we gear up for the coming
snowsports season, we are
both excited and hopeful. Planning
for club ski trips is in full
swing. The enthusiasm is high,
with some trips selling out within
days of reservations being taken.
We are all hopeful that our plans
will not be thwarted nor diminished
as we all watch the effects
of the spreading COVID variants.
So, where are the clubs in
Central Council of California
planning to ski this year?
n SLO Skiers, in San Luis
Obispo, has a February weeklong
trip scheduled to Taos, New Mexico
beginning on February 5.
Around March 5, the SLO Skiers
will be heading to Mt. Bachelor,
Oregon for a week.
We're celebrating getting back
to our favorite winter activities.
And, the FWSA Ski Week to
Aspen Snowmass.

n Just as SLO Skiers
head to Taos, Fresno Ski Club
will be heading to Steamboat,
Colorado for a fun-filled week of
skiing/riding and social events.
Fresno Ski Club's second trip
stays close to home, with a fiveday
trip to Mammoth Mountain
Resort.
n Santa Barbara Ski Club
has big plans as well. Mid-January,
Santa Barbara Ski Club will
be enjoying a wonderful week in
Aspen/Snowmass. Three shorter
trips are planned to Mammoth
Mountain Resort before the club
heads up to Big Sky, Montana for
another fun-filled week.
As you can see, the Central
Council of California ski clubs
have a busy winter schedule. In
addition to the clubs' trip schedule,
we have members from some
of our clubs that enjoy the FWSA
travel program, including the dive
trips, international ski and adventure
trips, and the North American
Ski Week and Mini Ski Week.
Summer is a busy time as
well, with club events that include
camping, kayaking, water
skiing, biking, happy hours, wine
downs, dine arounds, and what
ever else club members think up
to share with their fellow club
members.
Excitement is mounting for a great ski season!
