The NSCF will be returning to normalcy in 2022 with their annual summit.
This event will be held at Whitefish Mountain Resort, Montana. Each council
and club sends a representative to interact with other country-wide ski councils
to exchange ideas and receive value benefiting all 29 councils.
National Ski Council Federation
(NSCF) Brings Councils & Clubs

The Far West Ski Association and member councils and clubs are all members of the National
Ski Council Federation. The Federation provides Far West councils an opportunity to
interact with ski councils in the central and eastern United States to exchange ideas and receive
valuable information for our member clubs.
The Federation offers members a variety of attractive discounts on items such as ski rentals,
lodging, car rentals, travel insurance and a variety of ski gear. To access the benefits and
other Federation information, ski club members can go to the Federation website listed below
and request a password.
Ski clubs can post their trips on the website to attract new members through their trip
offerings.
The 2021 annual meeting was held again virtually August 21, but we are eagerly looking
forward to a face-to-face meeting Sept. 8-10, 2022, in Whitefish, Montana, home to Whitefish
Mountain Resort. Our host, Ryan Billiet of Averill Hospitality, has a variety of pre-conference
activities planned in cooperation with Whitefish community partners, including a scenic
lift ride at the ski resort and a sightseeing tour of nearby Glacier National Park. We will be
staying at the beautiful Lodge at Whitefish Lake, an Averill property. The Lodge is graciously
offering the conference room rate to delegates who wish to come early or stay over.
The Friday meeting will feature presentations and discussions among the council delegates
and our industry partners. Saturday will be a business meeting.
NSCF elects officers every other year for two-year terms. At the August 21 meeting the
following officers were elected: President, Cheryl Mann (Texas Ski Council), Vice President,
Michael Calderone (Metro New York Council), Secretary, Joe Harvis (New Jersey, Northwest,
and Sierra Councils) and Treasurer, Linda Walker (Florida Ski Council). Like FWSA, the Federation
is completely operated by volunteers.
The Federation was formed in 1999 to provide ski councils an opportunity to exchange
information and to discuss among themselves and with the ski industry important issues that
impact clubs and councils throughout the United States. The Federation represents 30 councils
across the United States. The councils have 640 clubs with more than 300,000 club members.
