San Diego Council
of Ski Clubs

The San Diego Council of
Ski Clubs offered some amazing
trips this past year. We all know
the huge impact the COVID-19
Pandemic placed on our industry
and favorite sport. We all persevered
and continued our sport,
within our individual comfort
levels, and still enjoyed the winter.
We alternated between in person
and monthly Zoom Board Meetings
per COVID recommendations.
Our clubs have been
resourceful and emerged from the
Pandemic with creative solutions
to keep members engaged. We
had a strong delegation at the
FWSA Portland Convention in
June 2022. Our Mosel Bike and
Barge Trip in August was a huge
success!
Our goal as a council is to
keep our local skiers interested
and aware of industry changes
and news. We share all information
that affects their snow adventures
with safety, equipment,
and resort information with individual
club representatives at our
monthly meetings.
We have full capacity for the
FWSA Ski Week in Jackson Hole
in February 2023, and our international
trip is a river cruise on
the Douro River in Portugal,
scheduled for October 4-14, 2023.

We
are very thankful for the
clubs we have in the San Diego
Council of Ski Clubs. Our clubs
have offered many destinations
for skiing and snowboarding, both
domestically and internationally.
Some clubs consistently have
strong race teams each winter.
Other clubs specialize in their athletic
choices here in San Diego.
Another club has many retired
folks that no longer ski but want
to maintain their friendships of
several decades by joining in social
activities. One very distinctive
club owns their own chalet at
Mammoth Mountain and offers it
to members only using a reservation
system. We truly have clubs
for every age group and interest
level in our beautiful city.

Action Ski Club is an active
social group of singles and couples
21 and up, that offers yearround
activities designed for all
types of fun seekers. It is a
friendly, informal bunch who
enjoy skiing and snowboarding,
dining out, biking, rollerblading,
holiday sushi boat cruises, hiking,
happy hours, paddle boarding,
kayaking and camping. Several
philanthropy events are conducted
annually.

include: Mammoth Mountain
Annual Super Bowl, CA; Salt
Lake City, UT; Sun Valley, ID; Mt.
Bachelor, OR; Sun Peaks, Canada;
Zermatt, Switzerland; and Frisco,

Don Diego Ski Club was
founded in 1959, is still going
strong, and wants YOU to join
and become part of the great San
Diego to Mammoth tradition.
There are plenty of other social
and recreational activities to participate
in with the club yearround
so check the website for
events. A special shout-out to any
prospective member who would
be interested in forming a pickleball
team! DDSC offers yearround
activities, including weekly
