Charities and Our Community Chair, FWSA
Far West Ski Association is very proud to have so many clubs
and councils actively supporting a huge variety of charities. Seventeen
years ago, the Far West Ski Association established the " Charity and
Community Service Recognition " program to recognize our ski clubs
and councils' efforts. By openly recognizing so many groups within
our FWSA family at conventions, we hope to encourage others to become
more involved with charity activities and donations.
FWSA and its 10 participating ski councils have always been
committed to supporting charitable giving and volunteerism. Through
the generous donations and volunteer services of our individual
members in clubs and councils, we hope to enhance the quality of life
within our communities. Congratulations to the members of our clubs
and councils, their presidents, and their charity program organizers.
These are wonderful groups, who selflessly support so many
charities. Most of our clubs and councils are in some way involved
with charitable activities, doing amazing work for those who are less
fortunate. At this year's convention, FWSA gave special recognition
to 17 clubs and three councils, who wanted to share their charity activities,
by including them in our third FWSA Charities Video. This
video was very interesting and inspiring. Delegates and industry
friends were able to watch it throughout the weekend at the FWSA
Annual Convention in Boise, Idaho. The video was sent to all participating
clubs and councils and has been posted for the whole world
to view on the www.fwsa.org website.
