Sierra League
& Council

Sierra Council has seven
clubs and a race team that are
geographically dispersed in Nevada
and Northern California.
In addition to skiing, the larger
clubs enjoy year-round outdoor
and social activities such as hiking,
biking, tennis and golf, as
well as summer outdoor entertainment.
They
would love to have
new members join in the fun.
Their membership meetings
provide additional opportunities
for social interaction, as do their
parties and happy hours. Our
members enthusiastically participate
in the Far West Ski Association
International and
North American ski and adventure
trips.
If you live in an area
where a Sierra club is located,
consider joining. The council
holds two social gatherings during
the year - a membership
barbeque in September and a
season kickoff party in early December.
Reno
Ski & Recreation Club
members enjoy cross country

There are two Sierra Council
ski clubs in Las Vegas - the Alpine
Ski and Snowboard Club
and the Las Vegas Ski and Snowsports
Club. They offer winter
ski trips, hiking, and year-round
social activities.
The Tahoe Donner Senior
Alpine Ski Club members mostly
live or have second homes in
Truckee. They enjoy group ski
days at Lake Tahoe ski resorts
throughout the winter, as well as
social activities.
The RU Ski Club draws primarily
from the Bay Area. As
the name indicates, many of their
members are Russian.
In northern Nevada, the
Reno Ski and Recreation Club
offers a full schedule of social activities
throughout the year, as
well as summer camping trips
and group ski days at Lake Tahoe
resorts.
The Top Gun race team
members include mostly active
and retired military members and
airline employees in northern NeReno
Ski &
Recreation Club
members enjoy a
group ski day at
Mt. Rose Ski
Tahoe. Mt. Rose
is nicknamed,
" The Local's Playground. "
The
resort is only 25
minutes from Reno
and 10 minutes
from Incline
Village. It offers
supreme snow
conditions even on
the warmest of
spring days, with
a base elevation of
8,260' complimented
by mostly
northern and
eastern facing runs.

The Sugar Bowl Ski Club's
members live in the San Francisco
Bay area and call Sugar
Bowl their home resort.
The Sequoia Ski Club
members mostly live in Visalia,
California.
Sierra offers a direct membership
option to area skiers who
want to race and travel with our
council but are not interested in
joining a year-round social club.
Recreational ski racing is a
key activity of our council. We
share the racecourses with the
Bay Area Snow Sports Council's
Singles and Open Leagues. This
collaboration keeps participation
costs affordable and enhances the
racing experience.
Sierra racers span all ability
levels, and all skiers and boarders
are welcome. Any skier or boarder
who can make linked turns
