Clara Anne Davis Spencer has joined the board of CMR Institute. Clara has 24 years of experience in the pharmaceutical practice, contracting and marketing industries. Currently, she is the director of pharmacy contracting for Carilion Clinic, a not-for-proﬁt healthcare organization. CMR Institute welcomes Kimberlee Oliver, client solutions strategist. She will be working directly with students and clients to ensure program success, as well as assisting business development and marketing processes. Kimberlee has experience with both Verizon Wireless and ITT. CMR Institute also welcomes Adam Shively, business operations coordinator. Adam will oversee daily accounting activities including accounts receivable and accounts payable processes, fulﬁllment and distribution processes, and inventory management processes.

FOUNDATION FOR THE NATIONAL INSTITUTES OF HEALTH
Ronald L. Krall, M.D., was elected to the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) board of directors. He began his term May 16, 2012. Prior to GlaxoSmithKline, Ronald was senior vice president for AstraZeneca and ZENECA Pharmaceuticals, as well as medical director for Abbott Laboratories and Lorex Pharmaceuticals.

THE AFLAC CANCER AND BLOOD DISORDERS CENTER OF CHILDREN’S HEALTHCARE OF ATLANTA
Clinton H. Joiner, M.D., Ph.D., has been appointed as the director of hematology at the Aﬂac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, a not-for-proﬁt healthcare system and a national leader among childhood cancer. Clinton will also be a professor in the Emory University Department of Pediatrics.

Dr. May Shana’a has been named group vice president of technology and growth strategy for Ashland Specialty Ingredients, a commercial unit of Ashland Inc. May will be responsible for leading Ashland Specialty Ingredients’global research and development and applications capabilities, with direct operational responsibility for the unit’s global research and technical centers.

Roy Pollock, D.V.M., Ph.D., has formed a new company—The 6Ds Company—to teach, consult and help companies implement the six disciplines of breakthrough learning. Roy serves as the chief learning oﬃcer and a principal consultant. Prior to forming the 6Ds Company, he was chief learning oﬃcer for the Fort Hill Company and before that, vice president of Pﬁzer Animal Health.

Carl and Joe Thoresen of Cornerstone Management Resource Systems have authored a chapter in“The Psychology of Assessment Centers”(Routledge, 2012), cited as the deﬁnitive work on this subject. Their chapter, How to Design and Implement a Task-Based Assessment Center, describes this alternate approach to traditional programs.
