Some exciting
things are just
around the corner.
ow, and thank you to all my friends,
peers and partners in the industry for
your support and confidence in me. I
am excited to be the new SPBT board president
for the next two years and also daunted by how
things are changing - and changing so quickly.
Technology and the marketplace will keep us
very busy
transforming to
meet the new
needs of our
customers, both
internally and
externally to our
teams and
organizations.
This will also keep
our society
changing to meet
the needs of you,
our members, and
our partners; I
look forward to
the challenge.
Some exciting
things are just
around the corner
so stay tuned!
A question was
asked of me
recently: "What
was the path you
took to lead
training at Daiichi
Sankyo, and also
become the
president of
SPBT?" I am not
sure there is a specific "yellow brick road" of
must-have roles to get where I am today. I look
around the industry and we have CEOs who
were the heads of training groups, and we have
heads of training that have never been in
training before, and all are doing inspiring work.
Passion and desire have allowed many of my
peers and myself to excel in our fields and attain
leadership positions. But, what I am speaking
about is not the classic passion and desire for
myself to succeed, but the passion and desire to
see others succeed! When I was a M1 tank
platoon leader or new district manager, it was
not about how I could get promoted or on the
next awards list. It was how I could help my
team and my partners get better. How we could
share information and ideas so not only the
team, but the group/region and even the
company would be successful.
When you focus on the success of others -
and ask how you can help your team develop -
then we are all successful. I
