Nature is calling us to go enjoy the beautiful outdoors. The Parks and Recreation Department offers a wide variety of outdoor activities in the spring from visiting The Farm, outdoor hiking trips, joining adult or youth sport leagues, playing a round of golf or just visiting one of the beautiful parks. As you thumb through the pages of the Recreator you will notice there is something for everyone. You will find many outdoor programs offered as well as indoor activities at the great recreational facilities Fort Collins has to offer. Don’t forget about spring and summer break activities for your children. There are many opportunities to choose from, beginning on page 41. As I looked through this Recreator I got excited about many of programs for my family to enjoy - the Flashlight Egg Hunt on April 6, Kites in the Park on April 29, and the CCR Tribute Concert at the Senior Center, to name a few. Looking to the summer months, my daughter is very excited about the Pony Camps offered at The Farm. I am also very excited to see the opening of the new disc golf course and the two neighborhood parks: Registry and Watersway. This is a great time of year to start getting fit for that summer season - so take advantage of the variety of fitness programs for all levels of abilities! If you’re a tech-savvy Recreation user, we recently implemented a Recreator app that can be downloaded to your iPhone or iPad - or both! Check it out and let us know what you think. Enjoy your spring and as always, feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.
