Adult It’s A Bird, It’s A Bee…It’s Biodiversity: Welcoming Wildlife to Your Garden Learn how native plants and sustainable gardening practices play a unique role in providing food, nectar and habitat for wildlife. Students will come away with design ideas and a list of plants to start creating bio-diversity in their own gardens. In this workshop, you’ll learn proper pruning techniques to promote overall tree health and to encourage good fruit yields. A portion of this class will be held outdoors so please dress for the weather. Discover plants for trouble spots, how trees create a passive solar environment, plus, options for edging, hardscaping and mulching. Morning session will cover design essentials and in the afternoon you’ll create your own design. Please bring pictures, measurements, sun exposure/aspect and information on irrigation – and a lunch! In this class, you’ll discover many varieties of dwarf conifers suitable for rock gardens and smaller gardens. You’ll also learn about their growing requirements, origins, and how they are produced.
