FAR FROM HOME

WHEN IT COMES TO HIS BIG
SCREEN ADVENTURES,
Spider-Man has certainly
faced some formidable opponents, from the Green Goblin
to Doc Ock and, now, Mysterio.
But, even combined, they're
nothing compared to what
the web crawler has to deal
with this summer in terms of
expectation in the shadow of
Avengers: Endgame.

Think about that moment
toward the climax of Endgame
when all of those heroes who
vanished in the aftermath of
Thanos' gauntlet-enabled snap
began returning. Now think
about the bit where SpiderMan lands toward the right of
frame and his mask is removed,
revealing Tom Holland as Peter
Parker, and the audience's
response to it. That is pressure

when it comes to the immediate film follow-up, Spider-Man:
Far from Home. Not that director Jon Watts seems overly
concerned about it.
"I thought it was an opportunity not only to essentially
be the sequel to one of the
biggest movies of all time, but
to be able to take that and use
it to tell Peter's story without
having to include that part
