But this month, head to Albany’s Chehaw Wild Animal Park to learn more about the differing cultures of Native Americans from all over the country, including the Cherokee, Mohawk, Creek, Plains Indians and many more at the Native American Cultural Festival, April 17-18. Demonstrators will be teaching flint knapping, fire by friction, deer hide tanning, pottery making, pine needle basket weaving, storytelling, twine bag making, and flute and drum music. Visitors can also shop for handmade crafts and jewelry, plus attend a dancing and drumming exhibition.
