Totes 2 Tots helps foster children Moving from home to home is often a reality for children in foster care, but thanks to Georgia Cancer Specialists, a private cancer treatment and research practice with locations across Georgia, and its Totes 2 Tots suitcase drive, the relocation process will be a little easier for these children. During the annual Totes 2 Tots drive, GCS collects new or nearly new backpacks and kid-sized suitcases. Through its partnership with the Division of Family and Children Services, the bags are then distributed to foster children, from infants to 8 teenagers, in the counties where the bags were collected. Want to help? On Jan. 13, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., staffers at 25 participating GCS offices around the state will take your donations of suitcases and backpacks. Since 2003 when the program was launched, more than 25,000 bags have been collected and distributed to Georgia’s foster children.
