STEEL MOBILE HOME ROOFING carried themselves. On behalf of the Historic Trades unit, thank you again for mentoring these students, and we hope to see you again in the very near future! —Sam Murphy, lead trades interpreter, George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate, Museum and Gardens, Mount Vernon, Va. Recently I had my electricity go out, and Coastal Electric Cooperative responded quickly to my call. Since it was late, and I wanted to “hit the hay” but did not want to stumble around in the dark or cause a fire using candles, I used my outside mini-solar lights. I put them in empty bottles and placed them throughout the house. Bingo! Instant light—and no worry about a possible fire! —Loretta Mugrage, Midway Since 1983 800.633.8969 Picture this? Guess where this is and you could Fantastic fireflies I enjoyed reading “Chasing fireflies” by Billy Touchberry in your June issue [see My Georgia, page 34]. I always enjoyed chasing lightning bugs in my youth, as well while growing up in Florida. In the article, Touchberry mentioned that he rarely sees a lightning bug anymore. I wanted to let him know that since moving to Jasper last year, my husband and I enjoy seeing hundreds of lightning bugs outside every night. I invite him to come up this way and enjoy these amazing creatures once again! —JoAnn Lowe, Jasper Win $25! In “Picture this?” the reader whose photo of a Georgia place is published wins $25— as does the person who correctly guesses what the photo is and where it was taken. The winner’s name (drawn at random from correct guesses) and the answer will appear in a future issue. If you’re ready to guess, or have a photo for us to consider, email picturethis@geor or mail to “Picture this,” P.O. Box 1707, Tucker, GA 30085. Submissions for consideration should be 300-dpi photos you have taken of locations that are easy to identify, but not too prominent. Please send photos and guesses separately. Guesses for the September contest must be received by Sept. 21, 2012. With all correspondence, please include your name, address and phone number. Our winners from the July 2012 issue are Gordon Elwell, of Bonaire, who took the photo, and Christy Snow, of Bremen, who correctly guessed that it is a picture of a bottle tree in Darien. Guesses came in for bottle trees in other Georgia locations, among them Clarkesville, Tybee Island and Plains, but this one is in Darien. Celebrating the Georgia lifestyle GEMC Congratulations!
