I spent 25 years there, until I met the man who would take me away from it all—a smalltown Georgia guy named Steve Williams. During our 25 years of marriage, we’ve lived all over. Then, about seven years ago, we bought some farmland, complete with a few cows, a broken-down shed and a single-wide mobile home in Iron City just outside 7:56:19 AM Steve’s hometown of Donalsonville. We doggedly added improvements over the years, and we moved there permanently in October 2012. The relatives have been taking bets on whether City Mama can make it in a small-town, rural setting. Well, this is my documentation that no matter how foreign or challenging the lifestyle is, I’m determined to make a go of it.
