Midtown Atlanta Aug. 18-19
for the Piedmont Park Arts
Festival. Created in 2011,
the annual event focuses on
visual and performing arts.
"The Piedmont Park Arts
Festival is organized by artists and includes one of
the most diverse groups of
artists of any festival in the
Southeast," says Randall Fox,
founder of the Atlanta Foundation for Public Spaces,
which organizes the festival.
"In addition to the painters, photographers, sculptors, leatherworkers, glassblowers
and jewelers, there will be artist demonstrations, acoustic music and a children's
play area."
Food trucks will offer specialty foods, including healthy alternatives.
"Each year about 25 percent of our artists are new, so each year there's a fresh
selection of works for people to see and purchase," Fox says. "Plus, we showcase
new musical talent, this year including former 'American Idol' and 'The Voice'
competitors. It's a great event for all ages."
