Healing Our Humanity:
an exhibition with a message

Georgia artist Steffen Thomas, whose namesake museum is in Buckhead,
was an advocate for equality, human rights and dignity for all people.
" He was ahead of his time, particularly during the 1960s when he made
the statement he is most known for: 'This world is too small for less than
brotherhood-too dangerous for less than truth,' " says Lisa Conner, interim
director of the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art. " To honor him, we annually
create a juried exhibition that brings his philosophy to life. "
This year's exhibit, Healing Our Humanity: Finding Hope, Love and
Unity, is brought to life through the works of five artists: Margaret C. Brown,
Zerric Clinton, Oliver Enwonwu, Andrae Green and Nnamdi Okonkwo.
" Using varied media and styles, each has captured the essence of Thomas'
message, " she says. " This is a thought-provoking exhibition comprising
sculpture and painting that is especially poignant in this time of the pandemic
and other issues in the world today. "
The exhibit is on display at the Steffen Thomas Museum of Art through
