" The Texas barbecue is a top seller at the Warner Robins
store, " Nadalo says. " In fact, our barbecue sandwiches are more
popular in Georgia than they are in Texas. "
And then there are the restrooms-more expansive than
the restrooms at major airports. Moreover, they are impeccably
clean.
" That's because we have dedicated cleaning crews that
continuously clean the restrooms, " Nadalo says. " Cleanliness is part of our mission: Keep it clean, keep it friendly
and keep it in stock. "

" The first one we noticed said, 'Tick Tock,' in big, bold
letters, " she says. " My son thought it had something to do with
TikTok [the video social-media platform], but then we saw the
other one that reads, 'Coming soon.' "
Falconer put the puzzle together after listening to an
episode of " The Big Boo Cast, " a podcast featuring Melanie
Shankle and Sophie Hudson.
" They were talking about going to a giant gas stationconvenience store-a Buc-ee's-in Birmingham [Ala.], and
that's when I realized we were getting one in Calhoun, " she says.
" I Googled it, and now that I know a little bit more about it, I'm
excited. "
Construction of the Calhoun Buc-ee's is well underway at
the corner of Union Grove and Johnson Lake roads (Exit 310),
and the 53,000-square-foot travel center is expected to open this
summer. Given the chain's enthusiastic following, hundreds, if
not thousands, of new and old customers are expected to stop
by for the store's grand opening.
" They are building it just down the road from [my children's] school, so it will be a great place for us to stop for
occasional after-school snacks, " Falconer says. " I'm really looking forward to its opening, and so are my kids. It's going to be so
much more than just another gas station. "

Even Buc-ee's billboards create a buzz.
Emblazoned with red, black and yellow
and the fun-loving beaver mascot,
the billboards signal to communities that a store like no other is
opening soon in their neck of
the woods. They already have
people talking in Georgia's
foothills, near where the
second Peach State Buc-ee's is
under construction.
In February, Audra
Falconer of Adairsville noticed
two eye-catching billboards as she
drove a stretch of I-75 in Northwest
Georgia with her son, Corbin, 13, and her
