EMCs earn national
communication awards
R
epresentatives from six electric membership
cooperatives (EMCs) in Georgia-
Carroll EMC (based in Carrollton),
Coweta-Fayette EMC (Palmetto), Flint Energies
(Reynolds), GreyStone Power Corp. (Hiram), Jackson
EMC (Jefferson) and Walton EMC (Monroe)-
recently received awards in the Cooperative
Communicators Association (CCA) contest held in
conjunction with the organization's annual institute.
The CCA also awarded its annual Michael
Graznak Award to Kelly Hester, communications and
corporate events coordinator at Carroll EMC. The
prestigious award is given annually to a young
professional who demonstrates both expertise
and promise in cooperative communications.
Communicators representing more than 40
cooperatives from throughout the United States
and Canada submitted nearly 500
entries in the competition. The
awards recognize the best in writing,
photography, programs, projects
and publications.
Below are the Georgia winners.

The CCA, a nonprofit organization of 350
professionals who communicate for cooperatives,
was founded more than 65 years ago and aims
to improve the skills and effectiveness of all
cooperative communicators.
